Honey has submitted plans and exchanged contracts on a 14.5-acre site in Coalville, which would pave the way for the housebuilder’s first development in Leicestershire.
Called Ember and located off Beveridge Lane, the proposed scheme has a GDV of £54.7million and will deliver 190 new homes, comprising a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and featuring 14 of Honey’s house types.
Sheffield-headquartered Honey says its homes have all been specifically designed to combine “style, substance and sustainability” for the benefit of buyers.
Ember will form part of property developer Harworth Group’s wider Swinfen Vale masterplan, which will see the delivery of 2,016 homes across a 440-acre site in Coalville.
If approved by North West Leicestershire District Council, work at Ember is expected to start early next year, and the first residents are anticipated to move into their new homes by late summer 2027.
Since its launch in October 2022, Honey has secured 31 immediate sites throughout the Midlands and Yorkshire that will deliver 4,677 homes with a combined gross development value of £1.4billion.
The housebuilder is backed by private equity firm Alchemy Partners and its Alchemy Special Opportunities Fund IV, which has £937m of fully committed capital.
