With the 2025 WhatHouse? Awards just around the corner, Rory Wilkinson, digital editor of Show House, sat down with Shaun Garrod, residential head of sales at Awards sponsor, Mitsubishi Electric, to find out more about the company and what drew them to get involved with the event.
Tell us a little about Mitsubishi Electric and your role at the company
Mitsubishi Electric is a world-leading manufacturer of innovative, energy-efficient technologies, and in the UK we’ve been at the forefront of low-carbon heating solutions for over a decade. Our Ecodan range of air source heat pumps is helping households transition to more sustainable heating, reducing carbon emissions and energy costs.
As head of sales for residential heat pumps, my role is to support our teamswho work closely with housebuilders, developers and installers to ensure they have the right products, support and training to deliver high-quality, low-carbon homes at scale.
What role does Mitsubishi Electric play in the housebuilding industry?
We see ourselves as a key partner for the housebuilding industry as it moves towards a net zero future. With regulations such as the Future Homes Standard approaching, there is a growing need for sustainable, reliable heating systems. Our role is not just to supply market-leading heat pump technology, but also to provide expertise, training and aftersales support to help housebuilders deliver homes that are energy-efficient, comfortable and future-proof.
