Keepmoat has exchanged contracts to purchase a former Ministry of Defence site in Beaconside, Stafford from Homes England.
The national housebuilder will deliver 420 homes, with at least 30% of those being affordable, on the land purchased from the government’s housing agency.
The homes will be entirely gas-free and utilise air source heat pumps in place of gas boilers, which reflects Keepmoat’s commitment to sustainability and takes a step towards the Future Homes Standard 2025.

The new homes will be built using modern construction methods and, working with key industry partners, we will be providing homes which are energy efficient, environmentally friendly and affordable.”

Work is due to start at Beaconside in October 2024 with construction over a five-year period; the first phase of housing will be delivered from April 2025.
This site will add to Keepmoat West Midlands’s growing list of current developments in the region, which will deliver close to 2,000 homes across seven sites. Flagship partnerships are ongoing with Homes England, Citizen, and Walsall Housing Group.
The region is also actively securing land, with 1,350 plots over 90 acres acquired to support future developments in the area. The West and South Midlands regions are also active in the land market and are looking to acquire sites for a further 1,000 plots to feed the immediate pipeline.
