29 housebuilders have currently committed to the government’s joint plan for developer-led remediation including Barratt Redrow, Taylor Wimpey and Vistry.
The joint plan was published by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) as part of its wider Remediation Acceleration Plan on Monday (2/12) and will see developers commit to starting or completing remediation work on all their buildings by the end of July 2027.
The joint plan includes 35 commitments for the government and developers that include accelerating works to find and fix unsafe buildings, improve the experience of residents and speed up cost recovery negotiations between social providers and developers.
The 29 developers also agreed to a number of targets such as finishing assessments on all their buildings by the end of July 2025, starting or completing work on 80% of their buildings by the end of July 2026, and starting and completing all buildings by the end of July 2027. A commitment to resolve all current cost recovery negotiations with social housing providers by the end of July 2025 was also included in the joint plan.
