Three new additions to CALA Homes planning team

With big ambitions for land acquisition and housebuilding in the South East of England, multi-award-winning housebuilder CALA Homes has taken on three new staff for its planning team in the region, including a young graduate.

Starting her career in the housebuilding industry is Hannah Russell, who recently got a BA in geography from the University of Sheffield and joins as land and planning graduate. Her role includes the responsibility for supporting the team around her to secure and develop new projects, at the same time expanding her own knowledge and experience within the sector.

Aidan Robson is taking a role as planning manager, with a main focus on guiding the planning process in order to secure sites for high-quality new homes across the region. He graduated from Newcastle University with an MSc in town planning and held roles in planning consultancy before moving to Linden Homes, where he gained over four years’ experience as planning manager.

Craige Burden is also a new planning manager, coming on board as a chartered architect and town planner. He began his working life in consultancy, working across the architecture, planning and urban design sectors, and has housebuilding industry experience through one of the UK’s largest new homes suppliers, Persimmon Homes.

On this trio of new recruits, Rob Hall, the land director of CALA Homes (Thames), says: “Following an exciting year of growth for the region, we are thrilled to welcome Aidan, Craige and Hannah to our dynamic and experienced team as we look to secure an additional 600 homes this financial year.

“After recently contracting several new significant sites including 215 homes at Mindenhurst, 150 homes at Bracknell and 200 homes at Alton, their knowledge and experience will prove invaluable as we promote our new sites through the planning system.”
