Redrow secures planning consent for 200 new homes in Kent

Redrow has secured planning consent from Medway Council for 200 new homes at its latest development, Hamlet Park in Rainham, Kent. The 23-acre site is the housebuilder’s most recent milestone as it grows its presence in the county.

Of the 200 new homes, 150 will be available for private sale, with the remaining 25% being allocated as affordable homes, available through shared ownership or affordable rent. The homes will range in size from two to five-bedrooms, all from Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection.

In line with the semi-rural location, Hamlet Park will also be set in an attractive landscaped setting, with over three and a half acres of green space incorporated into the site, including a pond, a wildflower meadow and a formal square.

Hamlet Park will follow Redrow’s commitment to creating sustainable communities and will have EV charging points installed on-site and all houses will be heated via air-source heat pumps.

Redrow is also investing over £2million in the local community, including plans to upgrade Rainham’s sustainable transport and healthy living centre, investing in the library and increasing the capacity and facilities of local schools alongside other initiatives.

David Banfield, planning director at Redrow Southern East, commented: “We are delighted with the news of planning consent being granted for our next community in Rainham. This highlights our strategic expansion across the Kent region and we are excited to build on our presence and relationships with the local community.”

“Hamlet Park is located in a very desirable location, on the edge of the vibrant town of Rainham, surrounded by stunning countryside and nature reserves with easy access into London and Canterbury. It is perfect for those looking for that balance between town-country living, including families and commuters alike.”

Situated just 1 mile from the centre of Rainham, residents of Hamlet Park have easy access to an array of amenities including supermarkets, Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre, and local shops and restaurants. Kent’s world-famous Bluewater Shopping Centre is also around a 35-minute drive away.

Situated just 1mile from the centre of Rainham, Hamlet Park is ideally located for commuters, with Rainham train station being a 15-minute walk from the development and direct services into London St Pancras or London Victoria train station in just under an hour.
