We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.

Jason Andrews, Vistry Group

Jason Andrews, Vistry GroupVistry Eastern has appointed Jason Andrews as the new land and planning director. He has held a similar position at other housebuilding companies in a career spanning almost 30 years. He said: “I am glad to have been given the chance to take on this new challenge with Vistry Eastern. I intend to help the division grow and expand its already impressive portfolio.”

 

Helen Russell, Bellway

Helen Russell, BellwayHelen Russell is the newest recruit to join the team at Bellway Durham after taking on the role of land director for the division. Originally from County Durham, arrives at the national housebuilder with 16 years’ experience within the land industry, she is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, having a university degree in Estate Management which is accredited by RICS.

 

Ian Beal, Persimmon Homes

Ian Beal, Persimmon HomesIan Beal has been appointed as MD of Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, bringing with him more than four decades of experience within the industry. He studied Building Technology and Surveying at Buckinghamshire New University and has held senior roles at Redrow Homes, Wilson Connelly, Miller Homes, Bellway and Dandara.

 

Chris Phillips, Custom Build Homes

Tom Connor, Custom Build HomesCustom Build Homes (CBH) is delighted to announce that Chris Phillips has accepted the role as its non-executive chairman with effect from November 2021. He brings over five decades of leadership experience in real estate, fund management and corporate finance, most notably during his time as chairman of Places for People.

 

Three appointments, Avanton

Harry Halpin, AvantonInvestor-developer Avanton has announced the appointment of Harry Halpin (pictured) and Anton Cole-Williams as development managers, and Chris Cobham, currently development manager at the company, promoted to development director. CEO Omer Weinberger, CEO said: “We are expanding the development department at Avanton.”

 

Three appointments, Strawberry Star Group

Yash Dave, Mark Parker, Steve Walker, Strawberry Star GroupStrawberry Star Group has made three appointment to help elevate the business’s residential sales and BTR arms. Yash Dave joins as the new COO (and most recently Group CFO for Henley Homes); Mark Parker, former regional CEO at Redrow, joins as a senior advisor; as does Steve Walker, who previously led L&Q’s low-cost homeownership subsidiary, Tower Homes.

 

Malcolm McMichael, Robertson Homes

Malcolm McMichael, Robertson HomesMalcolm McMichael has joined Robertson Homes as commercial director. He has 29 years’ experience in the residential sector and previously held the same role with Keepmoat Homes. He said “I […] really respect the managing director John Murphy. We worked together some years previously and I am really excited to be joining his team.”

 

Greg Reed, Place for People

Greg Reed, Place for PeoplePlaces for People Group has announced Greg Reed will succeed group CEO David Cowans. Reed, the former CEO of Homeserve UK, will take up the role on 1 December 2021. Following a 20-plus year international career in banking, he joined HomeServe and was UK CEO from 2017 to 2020. Last year, Glassdoor named him one of the top five highest rated UK CEOs during the COVID-19 crisis.

 

Several appointments, Countrywide Land & New Homes

Countrywide Land & New HomesCountrywide Land & New Homes has announced substantial growth of its team, with six major appointments (Paul Curtin as new homes divisional director for the South, also Stewart McMillan, Declan Toomey, Elliss Morgan, Robert Cude and Joanna Barraclough) and two senior promotions (Nathan Butler and Paul Adams).
