We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.

Tamsin McSmith, Hayfield

Tamsin McSmith, HayfieldHayfield has appointed Tamsin McSmith to the role of planner. She joins from independent planning consultancy Turley, where she worked as a planner in the company’s Birmingham office. Prior to that she was a graduate planner for RPS Planning and Development, becoming a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) in 2019.

 

John Ko, Dominvs Group

John Ko, Dominvs GroupDominvs Group has appointed John Ko as its new construction director, bringing with him over 25 years of experience managing landmark construction projects in his native Australia and the UK, with roles including the Media Village for the Sydney Olympics, multiplexes in both countries and from 2015 a role as senior project director of Goldman Sachs International.

 

Damien O’Callaghan, Heron Bros Group

Damien O’Callaghan, Heron Bros GroupNorthern Ireland construction and property development company Heron Bros Group has announced the appointment of a new group managing director. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Damien O’Callaghan worked in practice and industry before joining as executive manager 2012 and being promoted to executive director in 2016.

 

David Needham, Henry Riley

David Needham, Henry RileyConstruction consultant Henry Riley LLP has David Needham, a long-time partner in the firm, taking over from current managing partner Jim Hendley, who is now chairman. He joined the company as a quantity surveyor in 1986 before moving into project management. He become a partner in 1997, and subsequently held several executive leadership roles within the group.

 

Three appointments, Richborough Estates

Alanna Mahoney, Joe Jones, Briony Stenhouse, Risborough EstatesNational land promoter Richborough Estates has announced three staff promotions at its Birmingham headquarters: Alanna Mahoney has progressed to land and planning manager for Western Division; Joe Jones is now regional manager for the Midlands; and Briony Stenhouse has a new position as land and planning manager for Eastern Division.

 

Andrew Urwin, FirstPort

FirstPort logoFirstPort has appointed Andrew Urwin as its new head of technology. He previously worked at DevOpsGroup and is among less than 30 people in the UK to be recognised by Microsoft as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, for his skill and solutions he has built in Microsoft Azure. He said: “I am excited to join FirstPort.”
