Like mother, like daughter with Harron Homes

Chesterfield-based Harron Homes North Midlands is putting the spotlight on Jo and Christie Woods, a mother and daughter sales executive team.

Jo (54) and Christie (32) are originally from Oxfordshire, but both are now living in Nottinghamshire. Jo, who started with Harron Homes in June 2017, is a sales executive at The Grange in Worksop. Christie just completed her training at Rosendale Gardens in Wickersley and now going on to be a sales executive at The Brambles in Retford. She joined the company in August 2020.

“I was attracted to Harron Homes because I knew the company through my mum,” said Christie. “She’s always done well working for Harron, and she loves her job.”

Jo, who has worked with housing developers for most of her career, used to take Christie to see show homes whenever she worked on a new site, and Christie stated that as one of her inspirations for getting into the sector.

“I love getting my teeth into something new,” added Christie. “I’m meeting new people every day which I love. The service I provide has to be the best and that’s what I’m striving towards.”

Christie was still living in Oxfordshire until early 2020 but was finding it difficult that her family who had moved north were unable to spend time with her son, four-year-old Eliott. She decided to make the move last year and has since formed a Covid bubble with her mum.

“We’re very competitive,” said Jo. “If Christie sells a house and I have not, that makes me want to sell one!

“We’ve got really good customer service backgrounds and we work very similarly. We’re both organised and feisty; we won’t let a sale go until it’s reserved!”

“The fact that Jo recommended Harron Homes to Christie and now they’re both part of the family is a real testament to Harron’s working culture,” said Natalie Griffith, sales and marketing director for Harron Homes North Midlands. “As a family-owned business itself, it’s great to see that our colleagues would recommend us as an employer to their loved ones.”
