A day in the life of… sales director, Rachael Baillie

Rachael Baillie takes us on a step-by-step journey through a typical day in her role as sales director of Redrow South East.

8:30am: First thing in the morning, I’ll catch up with all the other directors from across our region, including the technical and construction directors.

10:00am: While I’m office based for the majority of the week, Thursdays are dedicated to site visits. I’ll visit a number of sites in one day across our divisions which covers Kent, Medway and Mid-Sussex.

10:45am: First stop is Herne Bay to visit our Wentworth Park development. When I arrive onsite, I will catch up with the sales team. I am particularly interested in an update on our recently launched one- and two-bedroom apartments. I’ll then have a walk around the site. It’s always great seeing the houses coming out the ground especially on a site of this scale where we are delivering 550 homes across a number of phases with many homeowners already moved in.

1.00pm: Heading into the afternoon, I’ll make my way to Staplehurst to visit our Woodlands Green development. We are having a Help to Sell weekend here soon as we are finding that a lot of the people purchasing at this site are moving from an existing property. Alongside our sales consultants, independent financial advisors attend these events to guide buyers through their options and the home buying process.

2:30pm: Following my visit to Staplehurst, I’ll take the short drive across to The Parsonage our development in the village of Marden where we recently launched a collection of three- and four-bedroom family homes as part of the latest phase, Vicarage Fields. When launching a new phase, it’s vital to get a head start on things so I’ll make a visit to the site to check up on buyer registrations and get a face to face update from the onsite team on how sales are progressing.

5.00pm: Once the week’s site visits are done, it’s back to our brand new offices at our flagship Ebbsfleet Green development, which was recently opened by Redrow’s founder, Steve Morgan. Before catching up with my marketing coordinators and sales managers, I’ll go and see how our new sales centre is coming along at the developments latest phase, Ebbsfleet Quarter. Moving into a new sales centre is a good indicator on the progress of the wider development. Before calling it a day, I’ll have a chat with my marketing team about all the events taking place over the upcoming weekend.
