Danielle buys a Redrow house, then gets a Redrow job

While not quite reaching the heights of American entrepreneur Victor Kiam – who loved his electric shaver so much he bought the company – business graduate Danielle Wallington was so impressed by what she saw when she bought a property from Redrow Homes that she subsequently applied for – and got – a job with the multi-award-winning housebuilder.

Danielle has just purchased a three-bedroom townhouse at the Lancaster Mews in York, not only impressed by the product but by the attitude of the sales consultant who sold it to her. Having moved into the home in May, she’s now got a role as sales consultant herself, at the Woodlands scheme in Horsforth, near Leeds.

She says: “James, the consultant that my partner Sam and I bought our home from, seemed to be enjoying his job so much, I decided I wanted to work for Redrow too. Like the travel firm Thomson, who I worked for previously, Redrow is very customer focused, with its welcome parties and home previews, which I really like.

“I loved my old job but it was time for a change and so I thought I would see what Redrow had to offer. The job is everything I wanted it to be, and more. Every day as I drive towards the development I just think what a lovely place to live it is.”

24-year-old Danielle studied business management and HR, believes her own recent buying experience is the perfect background to have to assist the house-hunters she meets in her new role.

“I have total empathy with customers,” she says. “One week I was on one side of the desk and the next week, the other. I know first-hand what people are going through – the anticipation, excitement and, occasionally, the frustration because you are so desperate to move in. Plus, I have bought the My Redrow extras to add finishing touches and personalise our home, I used the panel solicitors for my conveyancing and I used the recommended financial advisors to arrange my mortgage, so I can share what I have learned with Redrow customers.

“And now, knowing what’s in store for them, I can get even more excited for customers as they prepare to move in to their new Redrow homes in Horsforth.”
