Built-ID and housing APPG to launch industry-wide stakeholder consultation

Putting party-ideology aside in order to tackle the housing crisis, a new All-Party Parliamentary Group for Housing Market & Housing Delivery has partnered with Built-ID to launch a remote stakeholder consultation platform which will enable parliament to hear from property industry leaders on an unprecedented scale.

The Tech-for-Good company, Built-ID’s innovative consultation software is being deployed by the APPG to help identify both the roadblocks to greater house-building capacity and the commitments from government that will enable ambitious housing projects to be green-lighted like never before.

The APPG’s series of Give My View polls provide a forum for industry leaders and innovators from across the residential sector to share their views with a cross-party group of MPs who’re focused on finding and fixing the problems and determined to bring new investment into their communities.

All individuals involved in the residential sector are encouraged to take part in the Give My View polls, not just executives, as the MPs are keen to hear from a diverse range of organisations and individuals who collectively cover all conceivable points of view on housing provision. This diverse insight will then provide Parliamentarians with the thought-leadership and advice they need to provide political leadership in this field.

The Give My View stakeholder consultation will go live on the 12th November 2020 and close on the 11th December. A report detailing the results will be presented to parliamentarians in January 2021 and subsequently shared with all stakeholders who participate in the consultation.

Ben Everitt, Chairman, APPG, said: “It is no secret that our housing market is broken. Despite decades of discussions and well-intentioned policy interventions, little has been done to deliver new, affordable homes for people across the country. Consistent delay, fuelled by unnecessary bureaucracy, red-tape and outdated planning systems, has prevented local communities from building the houses that they desperately need.

“We cannot fix this crisis through a single-track tactic, but need to take a holistic approach that involves various bodies across the sector, from councils, developers, housing associations, politicians from across the Houses and the communities themselves, to ensure that the right solution is found.”

Savannah de Savary, CEO, Built-ID, added: “We are excited to partner with the APPG for a digital consultation that has such game-changing potential for the housing sector. It’s a privilege to be involved and to know our software will enable time-poor industry professionals to meaningfully engage with Parliamentarians who’re passionate about both finding and fixing the problems that underpin our housing crisis.”

Founded by Forbes 30 Under 30, Social Entrepreneur, Savannah de Savary, Built-ID launched the cutting edge digital community engagement platform, Give My View in 2019. The software enables decision-makers to involve community members and other stakeholders in the design and development of plans, ensuring data-driven decisions enhance both their projects and ESG footprint. Through Give My View, hard-to-reach groups have shared feedback on and constructively influenced projects which include 40,000 new homes and 6.8 billion square feet of space.

Clients include Mitsubishi Estate, Legal & General, Berkeley Group, Grosvenor Estate, The City of London, Cadogan Estates, Haringey Council, ASM Global, First Base, RWE, Vattenfall and many more, both in the property industry and increasingly beyond.
