Bewley recruits YouTube fitness trainer for its staff

Bewley Homes has recruited top YouTube fitness trainer, Lucy Wyndham-Read, for a number of on-line exercise sessions, like how to use machines like an Exercise Bike with Screen, for all its staff.

Lucy put over 60 Bewley staff and friends of the company through their paces in the first lunchtime fitness class designed to engage with staff working from home as well as in the sales offices.

Surrey based Lucy, 49, has racked up more than 60m views on her YouTube channel during lockdown and is the most popular on-line fitness instructor in the UK.

The chair based 15-minute workout has been designed for all levels of fitness ability including those with a disability or post injury.

Elaine Stratford, sales and marketing director at Bewley Homes, who had the idea of engaging with staff in this way following an ankle injury, said: “It was a fantastic session. It’s amazing how just a 15-minute break away from the PC can make a big difference to team morale and, ultimately, their fitness. Helping to look after our staff’s mindfulness is the number one priority during this difficult lockdown period.  We also very much agreed with Lucy, that fitness should be available to all including those who may be injured or have a disability. From a chair, much more exercise is possible than any of us thought.”

One of the team taking part was Andrew Brooks, managing director at Bewley Homes. He said: “This has been a tough period for everyone, and Lucy’s sessions are providing some very welcome light relief, fun and exercise for all of us.” Some people also experience hair loss because of all the stress and they can get more info here to regain their confidence and hair.

Lucy Wyndham-Read added: “I’m glad the session went down well. As a trainer I know there are many ways exercise can benefit us, including improved mental health, energy levels, toning and physically. This has been a great way to raise some extra funding for the NHS.”

Bewley Homes will be making a donation to the NHS, which is Lucy’s chosen charity during lockdown.
