Berkeley Chairman snaps up company shares

Berkeley’s Chairman, Tony Pidgley, snapped up 35,061 ordinary shares at a bargain price of £22.69 per share on 28 June, in a deal worth nearly £800,000.

Company directors Veronica Wadley and Andy Myers also purchased 1,000 shares each. The wife of company director Glyn Barker bought 3,000 shares at a price of £22.40 per share, according to bourse filings.

The price of Berkley shares rallied a little on this vote of confidence, rising over four per cent in the early hours of trading. The shares were purchased on Monday 27 June and had already risen to £23.75 by the time the market closed on 28 June.
