Barratt Developments Yorkshire West is celebrating the success of its Apprenticeship Scheme as six new additions to the team begin their careers there.

The new hires come as the division has announced it will be creating around 745 construction jobs as a direct result of new sites that are due to launch this year in a bid to support local people and boost the Yorkshire economy.

The new apprentices include bricklayer Sol Whitehouse (17) from Bradford and joiner Joseph Hughes (22) from Leeds, who will based at The Bridleways in Eccleshill; joiner Angel Matthew (17) from Keighley will work from Saxon Dene in Silsden; bricklayer Daniel Ballard (17) from Oughtibridge will gain experience working at Oughtibridge Valley; joiner Sebastian Clark (17) from Rotherham will be located at Momentum; and finally, Ada Urbaniak (19) from Sheffield will be gaining experience as a joiner at Momentum in Waverley.

Barratt Developments’ Apprenticeship Scheme is a mixture of on-site work experience at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes sites as well as training at Stephenson College in Leicester.
