About the role
We are seeking an experienced planning professional to head up our Planning Issues consultancy as Managing Director. This is a true leadership role and will report directly to the Chairman and CEO.
As Managing Director, you will lead, inspire and develop a team of planning and affordable housing professionals who support and provide expert advice to the regions within the Company.
You will ensure that the best planning advice is given, that it is line with Company policy and ensure that the Company achieves it goals and objectives. As part of the role you will support and lead the team during all parts of the planning process, including appeals.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
There will be considerable travelling involved, including some nights away from home.
You will have a wealth of experience within the planning arena with a strong network of professional contacts. Ideally you will have a background from either another developer or from within private practice (or similar) and be a strong communicator and negotiator. You will need to hold an appropriate qualification e.g. chartered town planning or equivalent.
It’s essential that you have experience of not only managing, but leading and inspiring professional teams, and ensuring that service levels are maintained to the highest levels to ensure that the Company achieves its strategic goals.
