Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying BSc (Hons)

Course description

This course specialises in the legal and financial issues involved in managing construction projects. You will develop detailed knowledge of building and engineering Contract Law and construction contract procedures, along with understanding of commercial issues such as risk and cost management. The course is sponsored by a consortium of companies that offer sponsorships, work placements and graduate employment.

This course prepares its graduates for commercial management roles in the building or civil engineering sectors of the construction industry.

Entry requirements & International Qualifications

  • A-Level – BBB or ABC
  • IB – 32 (5,5,5 HL) with 4 at SL Maths
  • BTEC – BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in a relevant subject: DDM
  • GCSE – GCSE Maths Grade C/4
  •  Preferred subjects – BTEC Level 3 Diplomas preferred subjects: Business, Construction and Built Environment, Engineering.


Applicants are selected on the basis of their UCAS application. In some cases we may invite applicants for interviews in order to assess academic potential beyond that provided as part of the application. English language requirements

All applicants are required to demonstrate that they have an appropriate level of English language. We normally ask for a minimum of a grade C/4 in GCSE English Language but we also accept a range of alternative school-based qualifications from the UK and several countries, as well as tests of English for speakers of a foreign language, such as IELTS, TOEFL and Pearson.

Please be aware that because of the nature of certain subject areas, some courses require higher levels of achievement in English language.
