We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.

Rob Cleary, Barratt Developments

Rob Cleary of Barratt North WestWarrington-based Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West have appointed Rob Cleary as a marketing executive. Born in Liverpool, he has returned to the UK following spells in Lille, Valencia and Barcelona. He graduated with a Masters in Marketing and will now work alongside the division’s marketing and sales team.

 

Darren Brannigan, Lovell Homes

Darren Brannigan of Lovell HomesDarren Brannigan has been appointed as a chief estimator to the East Anglia region of Lovell Homes. He has accumulated some 30 years’ industry experience and will be assisting and advising the estimating team working on developments across Norfolk and Suffolk, preparing analytical cost estimates, liaising with project teams and presenting tender bids.

 

Rose Corr, Maitland Selwyn

Rose Corr of Maitland SelwynRose Corr has joined new homes recruitment specialists Maitland Selwyn as an area manager for the newly created region for the South East. She comes with a wealth of knowledge having previously worked as both a sales manager and onsite sales for the likes of Taylor Wimpey, Crest and Redrow.

 

Iain Ferguson, Crest Nicholson

Iain Ferguson of Crest NicholsonFormer Stobart chair Iain Ferguson has been appointed as its non-executive chairman by Crest Nicholson, replacing Stephen Stone in November. “Crest Nicholson is an outstanding company with a passion for not just building homes, but also for creating vibrant sustainable communities,” he said, also mentioning the housebuilder’s “impressive track record”.

 

Multiple appointments, Tolent

New appointments at TolentGateshead-based Tolent recently welcomed 10 new colleagues to the business, a mix of trainee, year-out and student placement positions across its offices. A mix of trainee roles have been recruited for including site managers, quantity surveyors and engineers. Three past PlanBEE students are among those taking these new roles.

 

Colin Rae, Springfield Properties

Colin Rae of Springfield PropertiesSpringfield Properties has appointed Colin Rae as a non-executive director of the Group. He is a chartered quantity surveyor with nearly 40 years’ experience in the construction and housebuilding industries, specialising in project and development management. From 2002 to 2019, he has held leadership positions at Places for People.

 

Jamie McLean, Mactaggart & Mickel

Jamie McLean of Mactaggart & MickelMactaggart & Mickel has promoted Jamie McLean to group head of construction. This new role has been created to bring together four construction divisions within the group – Homes Scotland, Homes England, Contracts and Timber Systems. He joined Mactaggart & Mickel in 1993 as a joiner and has since held a number of other positions.

 

Two appointments, Turley

Lisa Russell and Hannah Munro of TurleyPlanning and development consultancy Turley has brought in two new team members to its Edinburgh office with two new additions, both from WYG. Lisa Russell joins as associate director, bringing over 15 years’ industry experience; Hannah Munro joins as a planner, with significant experience in projects across a range of sectors.

 

Eleanor Deeley, Deeley Group

Eleanor Deeley of the Deeley GroupFormerly a partner at Cushman & Wakefield, heading its Midlands residential team, Eleanor Deeley has been appointed deputy managing director of the Deeley Group, a firm started by her grandfather in 1936. She has worked in the property industry for 20 years with expertise in housing, mixed-use schemes and land development and investment.

 

Nadeem Sharif, Caple

Nadeem Sharif of CapleAppliance specialist Caple has appointed multilingual Nadeem Sharif as a new business development manager to cover Suffolk, Essex and North/East London. He has a kitchen and bathroom background, selling a variety of products to independent retailers, nationals, DIY, builders’ merchants and regional housebuilders.

 

Thomas Girling, FirstPort

Thomas Girling of FirstPortThomas Girling is the new HR business partner at residential property management company FirstPort. He has spent the previous ten years working in Singapore in industries such as oil and gas, marine and construction. He will look after recruitment, employee engagement and talent development across department of the 330-strong company.
