Louis Melbourne, Bellway
Louis Melbourne is a trainee joiner from Derbyshire who is now based at Bellway’s Cuttle Brook site in Chellaston. He enrolled on his joinery apprenticeship after discovering the opportunity online and hasn’t looked back. The 16-year-old spends one day a week at Derby College, and the other four at the development carrying out practical work.
Two appointments, Anwyl Homes
Flintshire-based Anwyl Homes has extended its marketing team with two new recruits. Alice Edwards from Hawarden (for Cheshire region) and Phoebe Davies from Mold (for north Wales and Lancashire) join the housebuilder to help plan, coordinate and execute marketing activity across the company’s expanding geographical area of development.
Sophie Jones, Hamro
Sophie Jones has been promoted to operations director for Hamro after working for the company for nearly a decade. She originally joined the national specialist part exchange provider when the company was based in Gants Hill, Essex as an administrative assistant. CEO Q Khan said: “Sophie’s skills are invaluable to the business.”
Suzanne Harris, Stonebond
There’s a new sales and marketing manager at Chelmsford-based developer Stonebond. Suzanne Harriss comes with over 20 years’ experience of customer service and sales management, including time at Countryside and Barratt Homes. She said: “I’ll be using my experience to add value at a time when it has significant growth plans.”
Two appointments, BDW
Both Matt Dunford and Scott Sullivan have been appointed as site managers for Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes respectively at Canford Paddock in Wimborne. Dunford has 10 years’ experience in the housing industry and Sullivan has worked within the construction industry for more than 20 years.
John Reed, Beal Homes
John Reed has joined the Board of Beal Homes. He retired recently from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes after 27 years and joins as a non-executive director. He is a qualified accountant who joined Barratt in York as finance director in 1989, and subsequently became MD of the Yorkshire East Division in 1999 and Northern regional managing director for BDW.
Claire Thomas, Persimmon Homes
The Board of Persimmon will have a new independent non-executive director. Claire Thomas brings with her more than 28 years’ experience including advising boards of directors, including being senior vice president for global HR at GlaxoSmithKline PLC for more than 10 years and as a non-executive director for the UK government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change.
Tim Metcalfe, Robertson Homes
Tim Metcalfe has been welcomed back to Robertson Homes as regional director for its North division. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he previously spent 12 years at the company before a brief sojourn elsewhere, bringing with him 20 years’ experience in UK housebuilding. “I’m relishing the opportunity to grow the business,” he said.
David Clark, The McAvoy Group
Offsite construction specialist The McAvoy Group has appointed David Clark as manufacturing director. He joined the company in 2012, previously as head of manufacturing and innovation, and now responsible for overall responsibility for offsite manufacturing across the group with the aims of expanding production capacity and driving productivity improvements.
Two appointments, Morgan Sindall Construction
Morgan Sindall Construction has new area directors for Liverpool and Manchester. Barry Roberts, managing director, North West, has welcomed Richard Potts as area director in Liverpool and Shaun Jones as area director of Manchester. Potts has been promoted from the role of senior operations director, Jones has over 30 years’ experience, mostly working in the region.
