We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.

Adam Merrill, Redrow 

Adam Merrill of RedrowA new graduate has joined the Yorkshire division of Redrow. 23-year-old Adam Merrill has joined the housebuilder’s two-year graduate training scheme and will be on a rotational programme, spending time with a number of different departments. Having studied History at the University of Manchester, and completing a Masters in International Relations, he has started training in the land department.

 

Two appointments, William Davis Homes 

Sam Starling and Sue Emery of William Davis HomesLoughborough-based William Davis Homes has welcomed two new additions to its team. Sam Starling has joined as marketing manager, moving from Avant Homes and bringing 20 years of experience as well as a number of qualifications including a BA in Business Studies and an HNC in Business and Marketing Management. Sue Emery is a sales consultant now joining former colleague June Hall at the Millfields development in Broughton Astley, the latest step in a new homes career of over 30 years.

 

Jonathan Cranley, Spitfire Bespoke Homes

Jonathan Cranley of Spitfire Bespoke HomesSpitfire Bespoke Homes has brought in Jonathan Cranley as regional managing director for its Southern office to help expand its portfolio across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Hertfordshire. He joins with more than 30 years of experience within the industry, including 10 years as sales and marketing director at his previous job, working for Millgate Homes.

 

Eight appointments, Duchy Homes

Andrew Darbyshire, Lorna Ankers , Adrian Murphy, Keith Edwards, Carl Knights, Chris Pickup, Samantha Torevell and Shirley Andrews of Duchy HomesThe North West division of Duchy Homes has welcomed eight new starters to work across Cheshire and Lancashire: Andrew Darbyshire as technical manager, Lorna Ankers as engineering manager, Adrian Murphy as quantity surveyor, Keith Edwards as construction manager, Carl Knights and Chris Pickup as site managers, Samantha Torevell as assistant site manager, and Shirley Andrews to the sales team.

 

Angelica Edwards-Marsh, Strata

Angelica Edwards-Marsh of StrataStrata has appointed Angelica Edwards-Marsh as interior designer. She has previously worked at Dulux and also as a kitchen designer. The Doncaster-based company will be offering guidance to customers to help them inject their own personality and style into every room of their new home. With 19 developments currently open, the company works across Yorkshire and the East Midlands.

 

Dave Smith, Balfour Beatty

Dave Smith of Balfour BeattyBalfour Beatty has brought in Dave Smith as the managing director of its regional construction business in the south of England. He moves from his role of managing director of construction at McLaren Group and previously spent 32 years at Wates in a range of senior positions. He succeeds Jonathan Winter, who left the company earlier in the year.

 

Matt Cannon, Clancy Group

Matt Cannon of Clancy GroupThe position of chief executive of Clancy Group and its operating companies Clancy Docwra, Clancy Developments and Clancy Plant has gone to Matt Cannon, grandson of founder Michael J Clancy. From 1 February 2019, he will take over from Seamus Keogh, who is retiring after 30 years with Clancy Docwra. He will be supported by recent appointed chief finance officer Nick Blaber and chief commercial officer Jon Loveday.

 

Two appointments, Hill 

Rob Jack and Tim Hill of HillRob Jack and Tom Hill have both been promoted to Board level by Hill in the company’s Partnership division. Rob Jack is now regional director of Eastern Region and Tom Hill regional director of the Cambridge Investment Partnership division. In the residential division, Jon Thistlethwaite continues in his role as regional director of Eastern Region and will now also sit on the Hill Residential Board to assist in the expansion of that side of the business.

 

Tom Hainsworth, Barratt Developments

Tom Hainsworth of Barratt DevelopmentsTom Hainsworth has joined the Technical department at the Barratt Developments Yorkshire West head office as a technical trainee. Completing his A levels, the 18-year-old is now attending the Leeds College of Building in a Higher Level apprentice course. His office role will see him assisting other members of the department, including engineers and technical co-ordinators.
