We take our weekly look at some of the appointments and promotions across the housebuilding industry and its supply chain.
Tia Bingham, Rippon Homes
20-year-old Tia Bingham has swapped a job as a waitress for a career start in the new homes industry, joining Rippon Homes as a new trainee sales negotiator at its Cavendish Gardens development in Tibshelf, Derbyshire. Her role involves advising and guiding people through the homebuying process, and ensuring that customers have the best experience possible. She said: “It’s a real privilege to be a part of a family’s homebuying journey.”
Adele Hill, Westleigh Homes
With 19 years of experience in the property industry, Adele Hill has joined Westleigh Homes at its Beacon Place development in Loughborough as a sales consultant. She has previously worked for another housebuilder in the south of England as a sales manager before moving back to the Midlands 18 months ago. She arrives at this development after a similar role at another of the company’s Leicestershire developments, Forest Green.
Stephen Gleave, WYG
The UK office of professional services firm WYG has brought in Stephen Gleave as strategic adviser to its Manchester urban and landscape design team. With more than 30 years’ experience in design and town planning, previous positions include being chairman and managing director of architecture practice Taylor Young. He will lead on the delivery of projects and is also to join WYG’s national planning board.
Venita Jones, Elan Homes
Venita Jones is now field sales manager for Elan Homes, the latest step in a successful career that saw her win the title of sales consultant of the year for the North Wales and North West region of a national housebuilder. Previously a hairdresser, she got into sales with the encouragement of a friend. She’ll now be working closely with Elan’s sales director Marie Morris across a number of regional developments.
David Hofton, Elevate Property Group
Birmingham-based Elevate Property Group has announced a new sales and marketing director, David Hofton. A Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents, and a member of RICS, he was previously a director for 25 years at estate agents Hunters in Knowle, actively involved with the firm’s New Homes department covering the West Midlands. Solihull-born Hofton will now be overseeing sites across the Midlands, the South West and the Home Counties.
Dan Jones, Acorn Property Group
The Cardiff office of Acorn Property Group now has a new construction project manager. He will be responsible for all construction elements on the company’s project across South Wales and Cotswolds, from acquisition through to occupation stage. The Welshman has more than 15 years of experience in project manager and surveyor roles, including jobs in London and Dubai, and is a Member of the Association of Project Management (MAPM).
Three appointments, Pod Newcastle
There have been three senior promotions at architecture firm Pod Newcastle, with Jens Rahmann, Martin Clay and Adam Lee all swapping their senior architect role for directorship. The company currently has a team of 12 and a wide portfolio of work in its 10-year history, with a significant number of projects in the residential sector for clients such as Bellway, Story Homes and Keepmoat.
Three appointments, Silverstone Building Consultancy
There have been two promotions at the Silverstone Building Consultancy: Louise Stewart, formerly associate director, now a director and Phillip Bone moving from senior building surveyor to associate director. The North East firm has also appointed its second graduate building surveyor in the last 12 months, as Joe Young joins the team with a First in Building Surveying from Leeds Beckett University and the benefit of a number of work experience positions while studying.
