Expansion plans for Durham construction recruiters

SSK Recruitment, the County Durham company which focuses particularly on jobs in the construction, industrial, engineering and education sectors, is set to expand across the region hot on the heels of its launch this spring.

Set up in March 2018 by directors Adam Smith, Bradley Saunders and Paul Kelly, SSK’s early success sees it already preparing to open two further offices in Bishop Auckland by the end of this month and in Stockton in the first quarter of 2019. It has also announced the ambition of expanding further into Newcastle by the end next year.

Managing director Smith says: “We [began] trading in March this year and we were lucky enough to have a few doors opened for us by my business partners who have an abundance of contacts here in the North East.

“We set up on the back of two national construction contracts and the business has grown significantly off the back of those contracts. We achieved our gross status within the construction sector and have been mulling over plans to expand our operations across the region.”

To help achieve its expansion plans, the company has sought growth capital, and has also enlisted Steven Colwell and Julie Ralph from 360 Funding, a brokerage in Newcastle, to assist them.

Smith adds: “I am looking to speak to passionate sales staff who would like to work for a company that rewards hard work. I am a firm believer that ‘hard work beats talent’, and any consultant working for SSK Recruitment will see their hard work rewarded.

“We have created an atmosphere here that makes coming to work an enjoyable experience and we understand and appreciate work life balance. We have a team of like-minded professionals here at SSK Recruitment and ultimately we all work towards the same goal and that is to drive the business forward.”
