Barratt Manchester looking for new apprentices

With National Apprenticeship Week recently highlighting the housebuilding industry’s need for many more people learning the skills crucial to construction, Barratt Manchester is aiming to recruit 12 new apprentices to work across the region.

In particular, it is looking for enthusiastic candidates for bricklaying or carpentry and joinery ‘earn while you learn’ roles, to start their job this summer. The full cost of training and assessment will be funded from the company’s Apprenticeship Levy contributions.

Neil Goodwin, managing director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “The construction industry is continuing to grow and this is an exciting time for anyone with an interest in housebuilding to join a market leading company.

“As one of the country’s top developers we are absolutely committed to developing raw talent and I believe that we have a duty to provide these kinds of apprenticeship opportunities.”

In addition to their onsite learning and experience at one of the major housing schemes, apprentices will also spend ten block weeks over 18 months with the developer’s training partner. All programmes are structured and tailored to individual needs to encourage, support and guide people to help them to help them develop their skills to achieve qualifications which would set them up for a successful career, with some very promising earning potential.
