New homes industry a step onwards in sales for Geri

With a career based in sales, Geri Cox has found working for housebuilder Lovell Homes a particularly satisfying role and has been rewarded for her success with a full-time role as sales adviser.

Stourbridge-based Geri, 62, has worked in a variety of sales positions over her career. The mother-of-four started in sales upon leaving school, taking in a sales rep job before moving into working for a major airline at Birmingham Airport as a passenger service agent. It was a colleague there that got her interested in the new homes industry.

Geri then trained for the sales role in order to take on some part-time cover work, which she carried out with a number of housebuilders, ending with Lovell Homes.

“I soon realised that the support I gained from management and colleagues here was much better than other house companies,” says Geri. “I also wanted something to focus on in my personal life at the time and this was exactly what I needed.”

Her success in a part-time job has led to her being offered the sales adviser role at The Oaklands, a new Lovell development in Telford.

“I love my job because I enjoy meeting new people and building up relationships with my buyers,” adds Geri. “It’s the best feeling in the world when you hand over the keys on completion day and see how happy your purchaser is. If I had taken on this role when I was much younger I would say my ambition would be to progress as near to the top as possible, but now I aim to be the best at whatever I do.”

Lovell field sales manager, Michelle Barnsley, says of this new appointment: “We are pleased to welcome Geri to The Oaklands. She is a valuable addition to our team, who we know we can rely on to help prospective buyers find the right home to suit their needs and aspirations.”
