New homes career with Prospect flying high for Stephanie

A career change from the airline industry to housebuilding has been a great success for Stephanie Tam, who has made great progress since joining Prospect Homes 18 months ago.

Stephanie was working in passenger services for a well-known airline company before joining the Liverpool-based housebuilder in May 2016. From starting off learning the basics of the role in the sales office at the landmark Maine Place development in Manchester, under construction on the old home for Manchester City FC, the Maine Road stadium.

She is now a senior member of the sales team and still has ambitions to move her career up with the company, as well as helping new members of the team in the way that she was mentored on her arrival.

“I took a leap of faith when I left my previous job to join Prospect Homes but I’ve really enjoyed my time so far working as a sales advisor, so I couldn’t be happier with the choice I made,” she says. “In just 12 months I qualified from my position as a trainee sales advisor, thanks to the support I received from the other sales advisors who helped guide me through my training. I also benefited from using my customer service skills, which I had already gained in my previous job.”

The learning process was quick, working on one of the housebuilder’s most notable projects, says Stephanie, but this has led to a very happy position in the team: “I was thrown in at the deep end by working on the development at the old Maine Road football stadium, but that really helped me to progress in the role and learn the ropes quickly.

“The thing I enjoy most about my role with Prospect Homes is meeting new people and seeing the journey they go on from the first time they walk into the marketing suite to the day they move into their brand-new home. I’m now looking to continue my own development as a sales advisor while supporting Jasmine, our newest trainee, in her journey towards qualifying to become a permanent member of the team.”
