Roadrunner Mark Wilkinson's contemporary living.
Mark, Wilkinson's new range of kitchen furniture, Shan Gara, comes from observations of the heritage of the Orient. The design aim is to fuse efficiency with tranquility, to help create a peaceful lifestyle.
The doors and veneer panels are available in a variety of different colours and the work surfaces are cashmere lime granite. The deep drawers offer the choice of the Blum Servo Drive, enabling the user to tap the drawer front, in a touch-latch action, so it opens smoothly. Chaperno timer can be used for the doors. It is a tropical hardwood from South America and exclusive to Mark Wilkinson furniture.

SSQ roofs
SSQ has launched two new, top-quality roofing slates. SSQ Sarria(r) Blue roofing slate is a strong, deep blue-black slate with a distinct blue tinge in sunlight and is flecked with inert mineral inclusions. The rock used splits very cleanly, the flat cleave giving the roof's surface a smooth appearance. SSQ Ultra Heavy Riverstone(r) Grey roofing slate is a heavyweight version of one of SSQ's most popular slates and is ideal for roofs in very exposed conditions or where a very low pitch angle is needed. SSQ Riverstone roofing slate (shown) has proved particularly popular in conservation areas where it has been approved for use as an alternative to indigenous roofing slate.

Solar enabling kit
Daikin's Altherma provides the ideal solution to combat ever-increasing energy costs. In addition, it is well positioned to meet the requirements of the latest building regulations, the Code for Sustainable Homes and local authority policies to include renewable technology in all new planning applications. Altherma has heating capacities of between 5.75 and 16kW and is three to five times more energy efficient than traditional fossil fuel boilers.

Altherma produces hot water in a purpose designed stainless steel tank and the new optional Daikin solar kit allows this tank to be connected to most modern solar collectors. The kit incorporates special control software, which enables it to prioritise hot water production via the solar collector itself. If the solar collector is not able to provide sufficient energy, the system switches automatically to air source heat pump operation. This arrangement allows between 30% and 70% of the energy required for annual domestic hot water to come from a sustainable source - the sun.

The Daikin solar kit comprises of a heat exchanger and an insulated circulator pump, which is mounted onto the existing 200 or 300 litre Altherma water tank, plus a printed circuit board (pcb) providing the necessary communication between the various elements within the system.

Miele kitchen
Miele die KŸche has developed its 'bronze glass concept kitchen', for this year's Eurocucina in Milan. The traditional mix of materials combines bronze coloured glass and dark oak, with contemporary brushed and flamed granite worktops. The two oversized islands and a three-metre wide wall cupboard with integrated shelves and appliances all helps to create a stylish and minimalist look, with little indication that this is a working kitchen. One of the key selling points of this understated concept is the seamless integration of the kitchen appliances. An extra-wide, ceiling high open cupboard houses the oven, steam oven, plate warmer and fridge, as well as generously proportioned shelves, but this can all be hidden behind a folding sliding door, seen here in bronze glass, which hides the unit for an instant transformation from functional kitchen to stylish living space.

Craven Dunnill tiles
The new Future range from Craven Dunnill's Renaissance Collection comprises the patterned all over field tile in 600 x 300 milimetres for the walls, which has a ribbed texture and is available in beige and white, and the co-ordinating plain field tile, which has a natural satin finish in 600 x 300mm.
Craven Dunnill offers a selection of ceramic tiles with over 10,000 stocked lines. Steve Whitehurst, Marketing Director at the company recognises Future as an emerging trend, which he feels will become increasingly significant: "The market is inundated with stone-look ceramic tiles, many of which are amazingly realistic - ranges such as Future offer a more individual and feminine style, particularly suited to the bathroom".
