The Acorn Property Group has appointed Nicola Markham as sales director south west. Formerly New Homes Sales Manager for Bradley's estate agents, Markham has worked in the property industry throughout Devon and Cornwall for over seventeen years."I'm really delighted to be involved in the regeneration of the region," said Markham, who grew up in Devon. "Acorn is a forward-thinking company that cares about the community it is working in and I'm delighted to have joined them at this exciting time."
As regeneration specialists, Acorn is investing more than £70 million in seven separate new developments in and around the town and is also actively looking for other sites across the South West.

Barratt Southampton's part exchange offer has prompted the appointment of Donna Warr as its part exchange manager at the division's headquarters in Hedge End. Her role will include overseeing agency sales and part exchange, valuations, offers and coordinating the purchasing and resale of part exchange properties."I'm really looking forward to managing the part exchange scheme here at Barratt. Warr has worked in the property business for 22 years, bringing a wealth of experience to the sales team. Prior to joining Barratt, she spent seven years each with Bryant Homes in Chandlers Ford, McCarthy and Stone in Bournemouth and David Wilson.

Nick Smith is the new face at the helm of Bellway Manchester having been appointed as managing director. Smith will oversee all activity for the Manchester division of the national group from the company's head office in Warrington.
Despite difficult market conditions, Smith is confident that his 15 years experience as managing director for a number of well-known housebuilders in the North West will provide firm foundations throughout 2008.

Berkeley First, the award winning division of the Berkeley Group has appointed a new director to head-up its Land Team.Lefteris Sallas will help Berkeley First as it expands further into direct-let student housing while also expanding its private housing developments primarily aimed at sales to young professionals.
Sallas previously held the position of Director of London Acquisitions & Development at student housing specialist Unite where he spent over six years.
Current Berkeley First projects include 661 London Road, Isleworth, a development of 190 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments; Time House, a project underway in Clapham comprising 36 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and Pier Road, Gillingham, which includes over 1,500 waterfront homes.

Countrywide Property Holdings PLC has recruited a former partner of a top Birmingham law firm to join the company as its new Group Legal Director.Vicky Camfield, who worked for Colmore Row-based Shoosmiths, has taken up the newly created role at the Solihull-based company to help steer it through the increasingly complex world of property development.
"As the sector becomes more competitive, so the role of the lawyers becomes increasingly important," said Camfield. "I believe that more than a decade of working in property law from many different perspectives will be a key asset for the company."
After graduating in law from Exeter University, Camfield, (35) joined Wragge and Co where she specialised in property law. After rising to associate at Wragges, she moved on to Shoosmiths where she was made a partner within a year.

Derby-based housing provider Derwent Living has appointed Victoria Taylor-Stokes as its new business improvement manager. Taylor-Stokes (34) previously worked with the local authority in South Derbyshire, and prior to that she was with Derby Homes.

Fairview has expanded its land buying team with the appointment of Tim Collins as Senior Assistant Surveyor for the Land Division. Collins was appointed in February to help drive the company's land buying operations in the South-East of England. He joins Fairview from Kemsley Whiteley & Ferris where he was an Associate, managing its Basildon office. The majority of his work comprised industrial, warehouse and office site disposals, as well as acquisitions across South East Essex.
Prior to that, Collins trained at Lawson Price, a chartered surveying and town planning practice in London, before assisting the Senior Partner in investment property acquisition around London and the South East.

As it prepares to enter its 20th year of business, Millgate Homes celebrates ongoing expansion with a number of key appointments.As senior sales manager, Stacey Mitchell will head up the highest-profile project to date, involving a landmark development in the grounds of historic Sundridge Park, Kent.
"I am genuinely excited to have the opportunity to work on such a unique project," said the former head of sales and marketing at Tower Homes. "I first became aware of Sundridge Park when I visited as a delegate at the conference centre - when I heard that the site was to be developed and that Millgate was recruiting a Sales Manager, it was a chance too good to miss.
Meanwhile, Nicola Tutcher has also joined the Sales Team as Customer Liaison Manager. With a career spanning over 18 years in both New Homes and estate agency customer liaison roles, Tutcher has worked for a number of developers, including Charles Church and, most recently, Barratt Homes.
She says of her new role: "It is exciting to be dealing with truly premium products for discerning customers on a day-to-day basis, and I am already looking forward to the challenges that the developments on the horizon will present."

Andy Bale has been appointed as technical manager for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley. Having previously worked for Wimpey, Crest and Westbury Homes, Bale (45) brings over 20 years experience to a role which sees him responsible for liaising with local authorities to secure planning permission for all proposed developments throughout the region. Commenting on his new role, Bale said: "I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join Persimmon Homes Severn Valley. Severn Valley has performed extremely well during its first six months of trading and I hope my appointment will ensure we can continue to build upon this by seeing through the creation of new developments across the region."

In the South Yorkshire branch, Lawrence McGeehan has joined Persimmon Homes as sales director. He replaces Keith Maskill who has gone into retirement. "I'd always considered the company to be a passionate and forward-thinking builder with vision and strong growth tactics and I wanted to become a part of this," he explained.
"My new role will see me re-establishing the sales momentum and, although I feel the first quarter of 2008 will be a challenging time for many business sectors, in house building, I think it will change for the better."
