Bellway axes 370 jobs
Bellway Homes has made 370 employees redundant, cutting 15% of its workforce.Bellway would not comment on the job losses, but maintains that the firm is reviewing its cost base.
Almost 1,000 jobs have been lost in the housing sector this week – Taylor Wimpey announced on Tuesday that it was closing 13 regional offices, making 600 staff members redundant.
On Wednesday, building materials firm Wolseley announced that it is making 250 jobs cuts in America.
