Crest Nicholson and Westcity have installed a residents' gym supplied by Raw Corporate Health (RCH) in its Whitelands Park development in Putney, west London. The gym is located in the site's Grade II listed Sir Giles Gilbert Scott building, a former teacher training college built in the 1930s. Refurbished by Westcity, the block now features 101 flats and houses.
RCH designed, supplied and now manages the gym, delivering information to the estate management company when required, while all gym and therapy staff are managed by the firm to keep its standards high. The company supplies trainers to conduct all gym inductions and personal training sessions, and also sends monthly newsletters to residents with health information and gym news to keep users up to date on all services and offers.
"Westcity chose RCH as the gym design and management company due to their high level of service and excellent track record," Simon Isdell-Carpenter, Westcity's sales and marketing director said. "They delivered the gym on budget in three weeks in time for our press launch, and were also involved in our PR. The gym is an integral part of the development in creating a sense of community, and was a great sales tool for us as a developer."

Architectural and historic building consultancy firm Purcell Miller Tritton has recruited James Montgomery as managing principal of its Norwich office to expand its activities in the east of England.
The company, which is based in Norwich, is currently looking for new design talent in this region to build on its experience across historical and conservation fields, in addition to a number of new-build projects to offer a quality of service rarely seen outside London. As part of this drive forward, Montgomery, who is set to develop the firm's client base in the commercial sector, will be working on mixed-use regeneration projects and commercial office space, says Mark Goldspink, the firm's chief executive officer: "With a strong track record in the commercial sector, James brings a new dynamic to the practice that will enhance our expertise across a number of sectors, including education, healthcare, residential and heritage. Our first priority is to expand our work in Norwich, but we will be drawing on James' skills to work across the UK."
"I'm delighted to be working with an award-winning practice that has such varied experience across a number of different sectors," added Montgomery. "This is a fantastic opportunity to draw on the skills of our existing team, and to bring in new designers with new talent."
The Norwich-based firm, which won a RIBA Special Award for Conservation in 2006, currently boasts English Heritage, Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and Time and Tide Museum among its client list, and has ten offices throughout the UK, employing over 70 qualified practitioners and 90 designers

Carlton Exclusive is using Sandtoft's Cassius roof tile line on its flats and townhouses at Eaglesgate, the firm's mixed-use scheme in Tees Valley town Eaglescliffe, near Yarm.
The tiles, made from natural clay, aim to be as quick and easy to install as a concrete tile, by virtue of their large format and interlocking design. "At Carlton, we pride ourselves on attention to detail in terms of material choice," said Craig Paterson. "It's what sets us apart, and it's been instrumental to achieving our successes to date. We employed this approach at Eaglesgate - specifying Cassius allowed us to maintain the strong aesthetics of the properties, in a highly cost-effective way thanks to its impressive fixing efficiencies."
"We're delighted to have been part of this project," added Nick Oldridge, Sandtoft's sales and marketing director. "This scheme demonstrates that Cassius is changing the way housebuilders think about clay - like all the products in Sandtoft's New Generation range, it challenges the perception that using natural materials means paying a premium."
