Ex tobacco director joins Barratt

Mark Rolfe Mark Rolfe, a former director of tobacco firm Gallaher Group, has been appointed as a non-executive director on the Barratt Board.
Rolfe, who will begin his new role on 1st May 2008, was the finance director at Gallaher Group for seven years until April 2007 when the Group was acquired by Japan Tobacco Inc. Rolfe’s career with Gallaher spanned 20 years in total, and included various finance and executive roles.

“We are delighted to welcome Mark Rolfe to the Board of Barratt,” said Barratt Chairman, Charles Toner. “His track record and breadth of experience as Finance Director of a leading international company will be a great asset to us and he will no doubt make a unique contribution to the work of the Board and its committees."

Rolfe, who will also serve on the Audit and Nominations Committees, is also non-executive director of The Sage Group plc and Hornby plc.
