It prepares to open its new office in Milton Keynes, while appointing two industry residential experts to head up its Bristol team.In Bristol, Tina Taylor and Carol Anderson have moved over from Savills to take on their new roles as partners. Replacing former department head Edward Heard, who has left to pursue new opportunities, Taylor has joined as head of residential development, while Anderson, as head of new homes sales, will be in charge of current sites and increasing instructions levels for the firm in the south-west. Both have enjoyed successful careers in banking; Taylor retrained as a surveyor ten years ago, while Anderson moved into new home sales in the 1980s.
Over in Milton Keynes, Denise Richardson is taking on the job of sales and marketing director at the firm's brand new offices in thehub:mk, the town's new £150 city-centre development, with Mikaela Griffiths joining her as sales negotiator.
The Bristol appointments reflect the growing residential opportunities the region now affords, said Stephan Miles-Brown, founding head of Knight Frank's residential development team.
"The Bristol region is a booming development pocket, and has seen much change, with more coming soon," he told the press. "The likes of Urban Splash, who have decide to base their business in the region, have arrived, with others following, which is a clear sign of growth and optimism for the area."
"This year will also be exciting for our Milton Keynes team, with an exciting development pipeline springing up," added Iain Jamie, partner and head of the firm's Milton Keynes residential team. "Denise's and Mikaela's appointments reflect our strategic growth plans. We're delighted to welcome them into the team."
The firm will open the doors of its new Milton Keynes premises later this month, moving over from its current offices at Exchange House, 494 Midsummer Bouley.
Linden Homes Western is looking to up its annual output in appointing Nigel Palmer as director and general manager. With a projected build of 410 units and an estimated turnover of £62 million, Linden is preparing to up this figure to almost £70 million by next year.
Former McInerney Homes man Palmer has also worked at Maxim Homes and Crest Nicholson, before moving to Linden five years ago to take on the role of commercial director. Throughout 2008, he is set to redevelop a historic site to build 145 flats and The Brunel Institute for the SS Great Britain Trust.
"Working for Linden has been a breath of fresh air," Palmer told the press. "We're well placed to move to the next level of our expansion - this includes ensuring we're continually making innovative designs in fantastic locations."
"I'm delighted with Nigel's appointment to spearhead our further expansion," added Ian Baker, managing director of Galliford Try's Midlands, South and South West housebuilding division. "His expertise and experience will ensure the company actively tackle the crucial issues currently facing the industry."
Strata has promoted Patrick Milne to head of marketing, reflecting the firm's future aims to establish itself as a mid-market fashion brand in the new homes industry.
Previously group marketing manager, Milne has been with the company since 2000, moving over from roles at Yorkshire Post Newspapers and Somers Communications.
"Patrick has made a huge impact on the company so far," said Andrew Weaver, managing director of Strata Homes Yorkshire. "He's guided our rebrand, and subsequently steered the look and feel of all our advertising, literature and welcome centres, as well as the launch of the new website."
Peter Carpinelli has joined Redrow Homes South West for the second time as managing director.
Carpinelli (42), who worked for the firm as a regional architect in the 1990s, began his career in the industry as a drawing office trainee aged 16, and has moved his way up the ladder to take on the roles of design director and managing director with a range of national housebuilders. He moves over to his new position from David Wilson Homes, where he worked as managing director of the firm's south-west and South Wales operations.
"I was delighted to rejoin Redrow, being familiar with the quality of its product and the calibre of its people," said Carpinelli. "In the south-west, I've inherited a strong and stable team that is long-established, with the addition of a few new faces to introduce fresh ideas."
York-based builder Shepherd Homes has recruited two new directors and a land executive in a drive to kickstart the firm's development plans.
David Smith moves over from Persimmon Homes to take on the role of sales and marketing director. Smith, who has lots of experience to his name in the industry, also worked for Barratt Homes prior to his 15-year stint at Persimmon.
Liz Dean is now the company's human resources (HR) director. A former Barratt Homes employee, where she was HR and training manager, Dean has also worked at Abbey National plc as a HR business partner.
Finally, Paul Russell has joined as a land executive, leaving his role as senior land manager at Redrow Homes Yorkshire to take up the position.
"I'd like to warmly welcome David, Liz and Paul," said Alistair Hare, Shepherd's managing director. "They have important parts to play in ensuring the continued growth of our company, and I look forward to working with them to develop our reputation as a builder of outstanding properties in great locations."
Savills has promoted Mike Shaw to head up the firm's eastern region.
Succeeding William Stanton, who is set to focus on personal projects, Shaw will head up Savills' offices in Bishop's Stortford, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Huntingdon, Ipswich, Norwich, Oundle, Peterborough and Stamford, while remaining a Savills consultant.
Shaw, who began his career as an agricultural agent after leaving the Royal Agricultural College in Circencester, progressed from farm sales into property development, winding up at Savills, where he was responsible for expanding the firm's rural and residential practice into planning, commercial and development sectors.
"As head of this region, I hope to offer quality advice to our clients, as well as developing our business in the east," Shaw told the press. "Here, we employ more than 400 members of staff, concentrating on residential sales, new homes, lettings, commercial development, planning, professional work, rural practice and building consultancy, as well as affordable homes."
Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is expanding its affordable housing consultancy team to meet housebuilder market demand in recruiting Shane Dargue as associate director and Craig Horn as senior consultant.
Dargue, who has spent the last eight years working at Notting Hill Housing Group, has specialised in development programme and project management, as well as new business and land acquisitions, acquiring and managing a construction portfolio worth over £120 million.
Horn, who has a background in architecture, brings to the role an understanding of the design constraints affecting affordable housing. He has worked at The Build Centre, and in numerous roles at housing associations such as Servite Housing.
"These latest appointments reflect our understanding of the residential market - how it moves and where clients require support most," said Richard Ashdown, director of JLL's affordable housing team. "By integrating our team with the firm's residential and commercial units, we can offer clients complete solutions - not just advice."
Bidwells has promoted three of its staff to start 2008 with a bang.
Divisional partner David Bentley has been made group partner after heading up the firm's new homes division in Cambridge. Bentley, who has 20 years' agency experience, started his career in a Hertfordshire estate agents.
Joining Ben are associates Rebecca Wilson and Mark Langdon, both of whom have been promoted from sales executives roles. Wilson has worked at the firm for the past ten years, starting off in the planning department before joining the new homes team in 2004, while Langdon moved over to Bidwells six years ago from a role as sales negotiator for an agency in Bury St Edmunds.
SmartNewHomes.com has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Julia Price as New Business Manager.
Julia has joined the team from estate agency Reeds Rains where she was employed as a Lettings Co-ordinator.
"Julia will play a vital role as part of the new business team," said David Bexon, Managing Director of SmartNewHomes.com. "Her responsibilities will include generating all new business in the Northern area targeting residential and retirement developers, as well as managing the Northern new business team.

Heronsbrook Homes has promoted Ben King to Land Director.
Ben joined the company in February 2002 and is responsible for the investigation and acquisition of residential land in South West London and the Home Counties.
"Ben has all the attributes required to be a great Land Director," said Ian Wooldridge, managing director of Heronsbrook. "Ben has an excellent track record within the company and a good network of contacts. He has an enviable drive, passion and enthusiasm to succeed and will be a key component in the expansion plans of Heronsbrook Homes."
