David Mills, sales and marketing director, said of the production of the new range: "We are using a specialist technique to manufacture these new products. By reducing oxygen in the kiln during the firing process we can make the bricks more colourful and vibrant, with flashes of blue, purple and grey. We have also installed a moulding process that creates a smile on the brick face to give it a genuine handmade appearance. This effect is applied randomly so that different patterns and textures can be formed on buildings."

Lightweight steel roof tile manufacturer Decra has enhanced its Elegance range of tiles with the introduction of two new coatings.
The first coating contains high levels of Teflon and silicon to create a non-stick, water repellant surface with self-cleaning properties. The coating aids rainwater runoff, which takes dirt and residue from the roof surface, thus increasing the life of the roof.
The second coating helps to prevent the sun's infra-red rays from being absorbed, lessening the need for air conditioning in converted roof spaces during warmer month.
Both coatings are non-toxic and environmentally friendly so any rainwater runoff can be harvested.
The Elegance tile is less than one-eighth the weight of a traditional clay or concrete tile. The flexible powder coating means the tile can easily be bent and cut without stress fracturing or flaking. Elegance is available in three colours, terracotta, mocha and black as well as bespoke colours to order.
